The Institut für Hygiene und Umweltmedizin in Lichterfelde, Berlin

The brutalist building which was finished in 1974 and gained protected status in 2021 was designed by architects Hermann Fehling and Daniel Gogel who were passionate followers of the modern and expressionist style of Hans Scharoun who was famous for designing Berlin’s Philharmonic building.
Several waves of concrete surfaces shape the unique building and create twisted forms and sculptural figures.
