The building is an immediate head turner when going through the city of Santa Cruz on Tenerife. Designed by the famous Santiago Calatrava and completed in 2003 after 6 years of construction. Despite criticisms regarding its location, budget increases or structural problems, the building is now considered to be a major landmark of the city and the island.
