Overlooking the famous Landwehrkanal the building is a famous classical modernist architectural design by the German architect and professor Emil Fahrenkamp.
Opened in 1932 the building was and still is noted for its striking wave-like facade and for being one of the first steel framed high rise buildings in Berlin.
