UFA

The UFA Kristallpalast Cinema! This fine example of deconstructivism is beautifully characterized by the two interconnected parts of the building: the "solid" Cinema Block, which houses 8 cinemas over 4 floors, and the "transparent" crystal glass shell. The different levels are connected by several floating stairs that give the interior space its own unique character!

The building was designed by the Austrian architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au and opened in 1998.
